Web and mobile design for a Web3 streaming video application.
The NEAR Foundation, is a Swiss-based nonprofit, which uses the power of its financial and operational resources to support the same mission as the overall NEAR Collective, which is to accelerate the world’s transition to open technologies by growing and enabling a community of developers and creators.
One of the companies from the collective, primeLab, has been working to create a series of Web3 applications that would replace traditional applications by rewarding users and content creators directly with the ecosystems tokens.
The idea was to create an application similar to YouTube, where users would connect via the NEAR protocol and therefore connect their wallets and remain anonymous (if desired). Furthermore, users can reward content creators directly by sending them ecosystem tokens from their wallet, and can also be rewarded by watching content.
The experience we designed for this prototype was striking, yet straight forward in usability, so that the learning curve for new users would be low and the jump from using YouTube to using the NEAR ecosystem apps would be easy enough.
